Notes - Ella Marie Hoffbeck, 88, of Redwood Falls, died Saturday evening, August 30, 1980, at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Gilfillan, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by sons Vernon and Norman of Morgan, Earl and Floyd of Redwood Falls, Alvin of Tracy and Francis of Marshall, one daughter Mrs. LaVerne (Viola) Dahmes of Redwood Falls; sisters Mrs. Anna Jacobson, Morgan and Mrs. Willie (Johanna) Lamp, Redwood Falls; 40 granchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1973, a son Raymond in 1968, two brothers, one grandson and one great grandson. She was born March 23, 1892, in Redwood County to Peter and Ane Marie (Petersen) Nielsen. They lived in rural Morgan near Gilfillan where she attended rural schools. She married George Hoffbeck on October 17, 1917, at Gilfillan. They farmed near Gilfillan until 1947 when they moved to Redwood Falls. She had been a resident of Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan until August when she moved to Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Bethany ALCW, past church organist, and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Redwood County Nursing Home Auxilliary and the District 83 School Board.
